AFGHANISTAN: COPTER HARD LANDINGS CAUSED BY ENEMY FIRE

December 5, 2005
BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – Initial indications reveal that enemy fire caused two CH-47 Chinook helicopters involved in offensive operations in southern Afghanistan to make hard landings Sunday.
One of the helicopters had to make an immediate controlled landing. The other aircraft was able to return to a nearby forward operating base.
All of the soldiers injured have been treated and released.
An investigation of both incidents is continuing. Weblog LINK
